WELCOME!

I’m Naina Uppal (she/her)
Founder and Therapist at The Nurture Nook.
I’m a counselling psychologist with three years of experience and a Master’s in Lifespan Counselling from St. Xavier’s, Mumbai, as well as an undergraduate degree from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.
My work is trauma-informed, queer-affirmative, and rooted in cultural context. I support adults through grief, relationship challenges, family dynamics, existential anxiety, life transitions, and self-development.
My approach blends Transactional Analysis, Existential Therapy, and Narrative work to help you explore patterns, find meaning, regulate emotions, and reshape your story.
At its heart, therapy with me is about creating a safe space to explore, heal, and discover parts of yourself that align with who you truly are.

My Approaches
As a therapist, my approach is insight-oriented and grounded in curiosity and collaboration. I primarily use Transactional Analysis to explore communication styles, life scripts, and internal drivers. I also draw from Existential Therapy and Narrative Therapy to help you make meaning and reshape the stories you live by.

-
How does therapy work?Therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. It’s not a quick fix, but a gradual process. With the support of a therapist, you make sense of your experiences, build insight into your patterns, and work toward meaningful change using psychological tools over time.
-
How would you describe yourself as a therapist? Some words that come to mind are: collaborative, client-centered, and curious. I focus on providing support while also challenging you to explore the role you play in your life. My goal is to help connect the dots and create a safe space where you can connect with all parts of yourself.
-
How do I decide on the right therapist for myself? The right fit is one of the strongest predictors of success in therapy. Look for someone with the right qualifications, experience with your concerns, and an approach that resonates with you. Most importantly, you should feel safe, seen, and understood. It’s okay to take your time and ask questions — that’s part of the process.
-
What age groups do you work with?I work with adults (18+) navigating a wide range of emotional, relational, and existential concerns.
-
How long does therapy usually take? The duration of therapy varies depending on each individual's needs and the nature of their concerns. Sessions typically begin on a weekly or fortnightly basis, with adjustments made over time based on progress and comfort. Some clients seek support for a specific concern and may conclude therapy after a few months. Others may choose to engage in longer-term work to explore deeper patterns or ongoing challenges. We will regularly review your goals and progress to ensure that the pace and duration of therapy remain aligned with your needs. Ultimately, my aim as a therapist, is to lose clients over time.
-
Mode of therapy?I offer both online (google meet) and in-person (offline) sessions. In-person sessions are available in Delhi NCR on a limited basis. You're welcome to choose whichever way of meeting feels most comfortable for you.
-
Do you offer student discounts or pro bono therapy?Yes, I do offer sliding scale and pro bono slots, usually for up to 6 months before review. These are limited, so feel free to reach out to check current availability.
-
What’s the booking process like? You can reach out through the Get in Touch section, fill out the intake form, or email me directly. Once I hear from you, I’ll reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation call. This gives us a chance to understand your needs, walk you through my approach and payment policies, and see if we’re a good fit. If it feels right, we’ll then schedule your first session based on mutual availability. Throughout, you’re welcome to ask questions or share any concerns, it's important that you feel informed and comfortable.
